Cancelling on the web (most common path)
If you joined a Skool community through the web checkout (Stripe), cancellation is also done on the web:
1. Open skool.com and log in. 2. Click the community you want to cancel from. 3. Top right of the community, click your profile avatar. 4. Choose Settings or Manage Subscription. 5. Click Cancel Subscription. 6. Confirm.
You'll see a message saying your access continues until the end of your current paid period. Skool does not pro-rate refunds for partial months by default. After the period ends, your access drops and the community card disappears from your sidebar.

Need a Skool community to begin with?
14-day free trial — no card required. Most community owners decide whether Skool fits within the first week.
Cancelling an iOS in-app Skool subscription
If you joined a paid community from inside the iOS app and the owner enabled Apple In-App Purchase, the subscription is billed by Apple, not Skool. Skool's own cancel button will not stop the charge.
The correct path:
1. Open Settings on your iPhone. 2. Tap your name at the top (your Apple ID). 3. Tap Subscriptions. 4. Find Skool in the list and tap it. 5. Tap Cancel Subscription.
You keep access until the end of the current Apple-billed period. After that, the membership ends.
This is the single most common cause of "why is Skool still charging me" complaints. If you cancelled inside Skool but still got billed, check Apple Subscriptions — that's almost certainly where the live charge is.
- 1Identify which billing path you used
If you joined via Stripe Checkout on web, cancel on web. If you joined via the iOS or Android app's in-app purchase, cancel through Apple or Google.
- 2Web cancel
Open the community → avatar (top right) → Settings or Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription. Confirm.
- 3iOS cancel
Settings (iOS) → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → Skool → Cancel Subscription.
- 4Android cancel
Open Google Play → tap your avatar → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Skool → Cancel.
- 5Confirm cancellation
Wait for the confirmation email or the in-app banner that says your subscription will end on [date].
- 6Verify next month
Check your card statement at the next expected billing date. No charge = clean cancel.
Cancelling an Android in-app Skool subscription
Same logic on Android — if you joined via the Google Play in-app purchase flow, Google bills you, and Google is where you cancel.
1. Open the Google Play Store app. 2. Tap your profile avatar in the top-right. 3. Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. 4. Find Skool in the list and tap it. 5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
Access continues until the current paid period ends. Skool's own cancellation flow doesn't reach Google's billing system, so cancelling inside Skool will not help if your subscription is Google-billed.
Cancelling the $99/month owner plan
If you're the owner of a community and want to cancel Skool's $99/month platform fee, the flow:
1. Open your community. 2. Click the gear icon (top-right) to open community Settings. 3. Go to Billing. 4. Click Cancel Subscription. 5. Confirm.
Your community continues running until the end of the current paid month. After that, the community goes read-only — members can still see existing posts and lessons but no one can post new content. You're not billed again.
If you want to fully archive or delete the community, contact Skool support after cancelling. Read-only mode preserves your data; deletion is more permanent.
What happens after you cancel
Common pattern across web, iOS, and Android cancellations:
- You keep full access until the last day of your current paid period.
- After that, you're auto-removed from the community (members) or your community goes read-only (owners).
- Your Skool account still exists — you can re-join later, sign up for a different community, or stay logged in to free communities.
- Your post history isn't deleted automatically.
If you want a refund for the current period, you'd contact the community owner directly (for member subs) or Skool support (for the platform fee). Refunds are discretionary, not automatic.
If you're cancelling because of manual work overload
Sometimes "cancel my Skool community" really means "the community is eating my life and I can't keep up". Before cancelling, look at automation. The two biggest time sinks for owners are:
- Manual welcome DMs to every new member.
- Manual outreach to members who go quiet or cancel.
tools4skool is the Chrome extension we built to automate exactly that. Triggered DM sequences fire on join, on inactivity, on cancellation (within 60 seconds — the churn-saver). The free tier (1 sequence, 20 DMs/day) is enough to handle the welcome flow, which is usually 70% of the manual workload. Paid tiers start at $29/month — meaningfully cheaper than walking away from a $99/mo community that's about to become profitable.
Stop leaving DMs, churn, and revenue on the table.
tools4skool plugs the holes Skool ships with. Free plan forever, paid tiers from $29/mo.
