What is free on Skool

Joining free communities is genuinely free for members. If a community owner has set their community to free, you pay nothing to join, post, take courses, attend live calls, and use the leaderboard. No card required.

Browsing Skool.com and using the Discover tab is free. You can find public communities to join without an account.

Creating a Skool account as a member is free.

The 14-day owner trial is free — you can launch a community and use all features for 14 days without paying anything (no credit card required).

Mobile apps for iOS and Android are free downloads. They're the same product as the web; you just download the app for your device.

Skool's marketing site at skool.com is free to browse anytime.

That's the full free surface. Most Skool communities are free for members because owners use free as a lead-magnet model — feed members in for free, then upsell to a paid sister community.

What is not free on Skool

Hosting your own community as an owner costs $99/month after the 14-day trial. This is the platform fee — you pay Skool for hosting, regardless of whether you charge members.

Joining paid communities costs whatever the owner charges, typically $29–$199/month. Stripe takes 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (Skool's standard rate, no markup).

Multiple communities as an owner — each costs $99/month. Three communities = $297/month base.

Premium tiers within communities — some owners charge extra for high-touch tiers ($300+/mo or one-time payments).

There is no permanent free tier for owners. The 14-day trial is the only free-for-owners option, and it ends when 14 days are up.

There are no nonprofit, academic, or developing-country discounts. $99/month is the same globally.

The 14-day owner trial

Sign up at skool.com → click Start free trial. No credit card required. You get 14 days of full owner access.

What you can do in 14 days:

  • Pick a slug (your community URL: skool.com/your-name).
  • Configure About, categories, cover image.
  • Build courses in the classroom.
  • Schedule events on the calendar.
  • Invite members and start posting.
  • Connect Stripe and charge members (if you decide to launch as paid).
  • Use the iOS and Android apps.

Day 14: You'll be prompted to add a card or your community goes read-only. If you add the card, you're billed $99/month from day 15 onward.

Most owners use the trial for setup + the first wave of invites, then commit on day 14. Some validate longer with a free community before adding a card; this is fine but you have to keep paying after the 14-day window regardless of whether you charge members yet.

The trial doesn't roll over month-to-month. It's a one-time 14-day window per account. Don't expect a second trial if you cancel and re-sign up — Skool tracks accounts.

Skool for Spanish-speaking users

Platform language: Skool's interface is English only as of 2026. There is no Spanish localization.

Browser translation: Chrome's right-click → Translate works on Skool. The translation isn't perfect but the UI is plain enough that translated labels stay clear.

Spanish-language communities: Plenty exist on Skool. Owners running Spanish-speaking communities post and run live calls in Spanish; members consume content in Spanish. The English UI is just the wrapper.

Pricing currency: Skool charges owners in USD ($99/month). Your card or bank converts from your local currency (MXN, ARS, COP, EUR for Spain, etc.) typically with a 1% conversion fee. Members can be charged in any Stripe-supported currency the owner sets.

Support: Skool's support team responds in English. There is no Spanish-language support line. Email support@skool.com works for any country, response in English typically within 24–72 hours.

If you're an owner running a Spanish-language community on Skool, the operations side is the hard part — onboarding, churn, member tagging, comment management. Tools4skool automates these tasks. Chrome extension and dashboard with auto-DM sequences, Churn Saver (recovery DM within 60 seconds of cancellation), churn risk scores, comment miner, scheduled posts, member CSV export, analytics. Tools4skool's UI is English but works for any-language community. Free plan available; paid tiers $29–$149/month.

Stop leaving DMs, churn, and revenue on the table.

tools4skool plugs the holes Skool ships with. Free plan forever, paid tiers from $29/mo.
