Why the Skool app is not downloading
There is no Skool app for HP laptops because Skool does not publish a Windows desktop application. The mobile apps (iOS and Android) are the only native apps Skool ships. On Windows — whether it is HP, Dell, Lenovo, or any other brand — there is no .exe file to install.
If the Microsoft Store shows a Skool listing, verify the publisher. Several third parties have wrapped skool.com in unofficial Electron shells and listed them as desktop apps. They are not endorsed by Skool, may not get updates, and can break with platform changes.
The right path is the browser, with a Progressive Web App install for a desktop-app feel.

What to do on your HP laptop instead
Two options:
- Option 1: just use skool.com in your browser. Open Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Brave. Go to skool.com. Log in. Bookmark for fast access. Same login as your mobile app.
- Option 2: install skool.com as a Progressive Web App. Cleaner, gives you a taskbar icon and a dedicated window outside the browser. Steps in the next section.
Both options give you the full Skool experience. There is nothing the (non-existent) desktop app would do that the browser does not. The web is the primary surface for owners doing admin work.
- 1Stop looking for a Skool desktop installer
There is no Skool .exe. The product runs in the browser only on laptops.
- 2Open Chrome or Edge
Both work. Chrome gives the largest extension ecosystem; Edge has cleaner Windows integration.
- 3Go to skool.com and sign in
Same credentials as your mobile app.
- 4Install as a PWA
Three-dot menu → Install page as app (Chrome) or Apps → Install this site (Edge).
- 5Pin to taskbar
Right-click the new app icon and pin for fast access.
- 6Add tools4skool extension if you are an owner
Chrome Web Store → tools4skool. Adds DM and churn automation on top of Skool.
Install Skool as a PWA on your HP laptop
In Chrome:
- Go to skool.com and sign in.
- Click the three-dot menu top right.
- Cast, save and share → Install page as app.
- Confirm the install. A new window opens with skool.com running outside the browser chrome.
- Right-click the taskbar icon and pin for fast access.
In Edge:
- Go to skool.com and sign in.
- Click the three-dot menu top right.
- Apps → Install this site as an app.
- Confirm.
This gives you the closest equivalent to a native Windows app. The PWA shares cookies and login with your main browser, gets push notifications through Windows' native center, and uninstalls cleanly through Settings → Apps.
Common confusions about *Skool app on laptop*
- Confusing Skool with Slack or Discord. Slack and Discord both have native Windows apps. Skool does not. The product approach is different.
- Looking for an .exe download. None exists. If you see one elsewhere, it is third-party.
- Trying to install the mobile app on Windows. iOS/Android apps cannot be installed on Windows directly. Some emulators (BlueStacks) will run the Android app, but performance is rough and it is not officially supported.
- HP-specific issue. Nothing on HP laptops differs from other Windows machines. The lack of a Skool desktop app is universal.
Automation tools on your laptop
If you are running a Skool community as an owner, the automation layer lives on your laptop in your browser. tools4skool is a Chrome extension that piggybacks your existing skool.com session — no password stored — and adds welcome DMs, churn saves within 60 seconds, comment lead miner, slash commands, and member tags + Kanban CRM.
Install path on an HP laptop:
- Open the Chrome Web Store in Chrome or Edge.
- Add tools4skool.
- Pin the icon to the toolbar.
- Sign in to skool.com normally; the extension picks up the session.
- Configure sequences from the dashboard.
Works identically on any Windows laptop. The HP brand has no specific compatibility issue.
Stop leaving DMs, churn, and revenue on the table.
tools4skool plugs the holes Skool ships with. Free plan forever, paid tiers from $29/mo.
