Frequently asked

Is Skool really $99 flat?

Yes — the standard plan is $99/month per community, no per-member tier. Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 on every transaction on top. There is no Skool-side cut beyond the flat $99.

Are there any other hidden fees?

No platform fee on top of $99 — Skool does not take a percentage. The only other costs are Stripe processing and any third-party tools you bolt on (analytics, automation, etc.).

What about the Skool Hobby plan?

The Hobby plan was a legacy $39/mo tier that has largely been retired. Most new communities only see the standard $99 option. Existing Hobby plan holders can keep it but cannot re-subscribe if they cancel.

When does the math get expensive?

Stripe fees scale linearly. At 100 members × $99 you pay ~$317 in Stripe fees per month. That is real money, but it is the same on Kajabi, Circle, or anywhere else taking card payments.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — Skool offers a 14-day free trial on the standard $99 plan. Some campaigns extend to 90 days. No card required to start.

How does this compare to Kajabi?

Kajabi starts at $69/mo for the cheapest plan but caps members and courses. Past the cap, Kajabi gets pricier than Skool fast. See our [Skool vs Kajabi comparison](/vs/kajabi) for the full breakdown.
