Where to download the official Skool app
iOS: open the App Store, search Skool. The official app is published by Skool, Inc. and called Skool — Communities & Courses (or similar — naming varies slightly across regions). Download is free. Requires iOS 14+ realistically, though older versions sometimes work.
Android: open Google Play, search Skool. Same publisher, same app name. Download is free. Requires Android 8.0+ for full functionality. Older Android versions may work but with reduced feature support.
Direct links: search the official skool.com site for current App Store / Play Store links, or look for the app icons on a logged-in skool.com page (often surfaced in account settings or onboarding screens).
There's no APK download direct from skool.com, no .ipa file you can sideload. Always go through the official stores. Apple and Google's review processes catch most malicious imitators.

What the app does
The Skool app is a thin native wrapper around the same skool.com web product, with native push notifications and slightly nicer touch handling. Feature parity with web is roughly 90%.
What works well in the app:
- Community feed scrolling, posting, commenting
- Watching course lessons (Classroom)
- DMs with read receipts
- Push notifications (the main reason to install)
- Biometric login (FaceID, fingerprint)
- Calendar and event RSVPs
What's web-only or limited in the app:
- Owner admin (member approvals, settings, integrations)
- DM Blast / bulk member actions
- Affiliate setup
- Stripe payment management (redirects out)
- Larger course-creation workflows
Most owners use the app to monitor and engage, and use desktop web to do real admin work.
- 1Open the official store
App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android. Don't search Skool in third-party APK sites or Electron wrapper sites.
- 2Search Skool, verify the publisher
Publisher should be Skool, Inc. Be careful of imitators — there are knockoff apps with similar names. Check the app icon and reviews.
- 3Tap Get / Install
Free download. The app may ask for sign-in immediately or let you browse first. Use Continue with Google for the fastest sign-in.
- 4Enable push notifications
On first sign-in, the app prompts for notification permission. Allow it — push notifications are the main reason to install vs using web.
- 5Set up biometric login
In account settings within the app, enable FaceID / fingerprint login. Faster sign-in on subsequent opens.
- 6For desktop, install skool.com as a PWA
On desktop, open skool.com in Chrome, click the install icon in the address bar. You get a desktop-app feel without a third-party Electron wrapper.
Why you shouldn't side-load third-party Skool apps
If you Google Skool app download APK or Skool app for PC, you'll find third-party download sites. Don't use them:
- APK sites: hosted Android APKs aren't reviewed by Google. Many third-party APKs are legitimate copies of the official app, but some are repackaged with malware that captures your login.
- iOS .ipa side-loads: similar risk on iOS, plus you need a developer certificate or jailbreak — both signal you should be more cautious, not less.
- Electron desktop wrappers: third parties sometimes ship Skool for Windows / Mac as Electron apps that just point to skool.com. They aren't endorsed by Skool. Some are benign; some capture credentials.
Legitimate path: official App Store for iOS, official Play Store for Android, skool.com in any browser for desktop.
Desktop alternatives — there's no official Skool desktop app
Skool doesn't ship an official desktop app for Windows or Mac. The legitimate desktop path is one of:
- Open skool.com in Chrome / Edge / Safari / Firefox — works perfectly on every desktop browser.
- Install as a Progressive Web App (PWA): in Chrome, with skool.com open, click the install icon in the address bar (or three-dot menu → Install Skool). It feels like a native app on your taskbar / dock.
- Pin a tab: in any browser, pin the skool.com tab so it stays open across sessions.
Don't install third-party Electron wrappers from sites claiming to be Skool desktop app. They aren't endorsed and can capture your login credentials. The PWA install path through Chrome is the legitimate equivalent.
Power-user tooling for Skool community owners
If you're an owner using the official app + web, the platform's native operational tools are minimal — one welcome DM template, basic post scheduling. At 50+ members the manual work becomes a job.
tools4skool is a Chrome extension + dashboard that fills the operational gap. Auto DM Sequences with multi-condition triggers, Churn Saver firing within 60 seconds of cancellation, Comment Miner, slash commands, scheduled posts. Chrome extension piggybacks your existing skool.com session — no password stored, no API token.
Free forever (1 sequence, 20 DMs/day, 1 account). Paid from $29/month. Works alongside the official Skool mobile apps — no conflict.
Stop leaving DMs, churn, and revenue on the table.
tools4skool plugs the holes Skool ships with. Free plan forever, paid tiers from $29/mo.
