Can I rejoin a Skool community after leaving?

Yes, almost always. Visit the community URL again and click Join. For paid ones, you go through Stripe Checkout again and become a member at whatever the current price is. Your previous posts and progress are typically still visible — Skool preserves the history.

Why am I still being charged after leaving?

Three common causes: (1) you left the community but didn't cancel the subscription, (2) you joined via the iOS or Android app and need to cancel through Apple/Google instead of Skool, (3) the charge that hit your card was for the current period — future charges won't happen if you cancelled correctly.

Does leaving a community delete my Skool account?

No. Leaving a single community only removes you from that one community. Your underlying Skool account still exists and you can join other communities or sign in normally. To delete your entire Skool account, go to skool.com account settings and use the account-delete flow.

Can I leave a Skool community without the owner knowing?

There's no notification sent to the owner when you leave, but the owner can see member counts and member lists in their admin panel. So while there's no email blast about your departure, the data is visible to them if they look.

What if the cancel button doesn't work?

Three usual culprits: you're on the mobile app and need to cancel via Apple/Google subscription manager instead; the community owner has restricted self-cancellation (rare but possible); or there's a temporary Skool issue — try the web version. If none of those work, contact Skool support directly.

Will leaving delete my posts and comments?

No. Leaving keeps your historical posts and comments visible to remaining members of the community. If you want them gone, delete them manually before you leave, or ask the community owner to delete on your behalf.

Leaving a free Skool community

Free communities are the easy case. There's no payment to unwind. The path:

1. Open skool.com and log in. 2. Click the community in your sidebar. 3. Top right of the community, click your profile picture. 4. Choose Leave Community from the dropdown. 5. Confirm.

You're out instantly. Your posts and comments stay (members of the community can still see them), but you no longer appear as a member. You stop receiving notifications from that community. Re-joining later is a single click — visit the community URL again and click Join.

Leaving a paid Skool community — do this in the right order

If you've been paying for the community, leaving alone does not stop the next charge. You have to cancel the subscription separately. The clean order:

1. Open the community. 2. Click your avatar → Settings or Manage Subscription. 3. Click Cancel Subscription. You'll see when access ends — usually the last day of your current paid period. 4. Confirm. 5. (Optional) After cancellation, you can also click Leave Community if you want to drop out immediately.

If you cancel but don't leave, you keep access through the rest of the paid period and are auto-removed when the period ends.

If you leave without cancelling, you're not billed for next month, you may still be billed for the current renewal — verify in your billing tab. If a charge has already gone through, refund policy depends on the community owner; Skool doesn't automatically pro-rate.

If you joined through the iOS app
Cancel inside Apple's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, not Skool. Skool can't cancel App Store subscriptions for you.

Leaving from the iOS or Android app

On mobile the flow is similar but the menu lives behind your avatar in the bottom tab bar.

1. Open the Skool app, tap the community. 2. Tap your avatar (bottom-right tab on iOS, top-right on Android). 3. Tap Settings or your profile. 4. Find Leave Community or Manage Subscription. 5. For paid: cancel subscription, then leave.

A crucial caveat: if you joined a paid community through the iOS app's in-app purchase flow, the subscription is managed by Apple, not Skool. Skool's Cancel button won't work — you have to go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions in iOS itself and cancel from there.

If you joined via Apple or Google in-app purchase

Some Skool paid memberships are billed through Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing rather than directly through Stripe. This happens when you joined from inside the iOS or Android app and the community owner enabled IAP.

For those subscriptions:

iOS: Settings → your name (Apple ID at top) → Subscriptions → tap Skool → Cancel.
Android: Open Google Play → tap your avatar → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Skool → Cancel.

Skool's own cancel button will not stop these charges. This trips up plenty of users — if you're seeing surprise charges after leaving a community, IAP billing is usually the culprit.

What happens after you leave

Leaving doesn't delete your Skool account or your data. You still have a Skool account. Your posts in that specific community remain visible to remaining members (Skool doesn't auto-delete content when you leave), but you can't post or comment further unless you re-join.

If you want your data fully removed, you'd need to either delete each post manually before leaving, or contact the community owner to delete on your behalf. Full Skool account deletion (across every community) is a separate flow handled at skool.com account settings — not the same as leaving a single community.
